To realize the potential of whole transcriptome spatial profiling in defining organ function at the cellular and molecular level, we have initiated an ambitious project called “Spatial Organ Atlas.”

The initiative’s goal is to map the architecture of tissues using spatially resolved whole transcriptome profiles. In the program’s pilot phase, key histological functional compartments were selected and spatially profiled in five critical organs, kidney, pancreas, brain, colon, and lymph node, using the GeoMx® Digital Spatial Profiler.

The spatial whole transcriptomic data was also benchmarked to orthogonal platforms as independent validation of the results. Multiple regions of interest (ROI) per tissue and multiple donors per organ have been profiled to evaluate the diversity within and between individuals. All the data is publicly available as a resource for the community.
