GeoMx Whole Transcriptome Atlas Grant: Tampa
Calling all University of South Florida Researchers! Apply now to quantitatively map the whole transcriptome to user-defined regions of tissue using the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler.
The cost of the project will be covered including entire experiment reagents from NanoString and initial sequencing reagents from Illumina. The USF Byrd Alzheimer’s Center will provide NanoString instrument service, and the USF Genomics Program Sequencing Core will provide Illumina instrument service. The trainings and consultations for the experimental design, sample prep and data analysis assistance/support will also be provided. The grant winner will be announced on February 28, 2023 at the Digital Spatial Genomics Symposium.
Full Transcriptome Spatial RNA Analysis
The GeoMx Human Whole Transcriptome Atlas (GeoMx Hs WTA) provides an unbiased view of 18,000+ protein-coding genes. The GeoMx Hs WTA unlocks new pathways to be explored by researchers and enables GeoMx RNA profiling in oncology, immunology, neuroscience, developmental biology, and other diverse fields. GeoMx Hs WTA provides robust and sensitive performance on FFPE or Fresh Frozen samples.
Using the GeoMx Mouse Whole Transcriptome Assay, one can apply spatial transcriptomics to reveal the tissue architecture and underlying function in genetically modified mouse models. Mouse models serve a critical role in understanding developmental biology, disease onset, progression, and treatment. Tissue heterogeneity, however, confounds the results from many mouse transcriptome studies based on bulk or single-cell RNA-seq data.

THIS GRANT PROGRAM IS NOW CLOSED
Terms and Conditions
This grant program is offered by NanoString for investigators at the University of South Florida but does not include a formal agreement or obligation between NanoString and the University of South Florida.
Publication of Project Results:
Upon project completion, the grant winner agrees to participate in at least one of the following activities relating to the specific project, with specific details of the applicable activity to be mutually agreed upon in good faith by NanoString and each winner: webinar, case study, blog post, or poster presentation. Each winner agrees that NanoString shall have the right to publicly announce the winner’s name and research topic and use anonymized data from the winner’s project in application notes including in marketing materials and seminars.
Eligibility and Requirements:
Applicants must be actively enrolled or employed at an institution or company in a capacity in which they perform life science research and have the ability to analyze samples within 30 days of award notification. The winner must be age 18 or older. Members of the immediate families of NanoString employees and directors, and/or persons living in the same household as such persons, are ineligible to participate in this grant program. The grant winners will meet with Nanostring to go through their projects in great detail. They will then work with the Field Application Scientist to get their samples stained with the GeoMx® Whole Transcriptome Atlas. Using the USF GeoMx instrument, the researcher will complete user-defined profiling and barcode collection. The sequencing will be completed at the USF Genomics Core. In addition to the costs that will be covered by NanoString, Illumina and USF Genomics Core will cover the cost of the downstream sequencing data generation for this grant.
Miscellaneous:
By submitting a grant application, each applicant agrees that NanoString may use his or her name, abstract title, and abstract for marketing purposes. All grant applicants agree that NanoString may process the personal data they provide, including sharing such data with NanoString’s partners, collaborators and other third parties who are obligated to keep the data confidential, and in accordance with NanoString’s privacy policies available at nanostring.com/privacy.
