Uncovering subtype specific heterogeneity in brain cancer with GeoMx® DSP and CosMx™ SMI
View On Demand
Would you like to meet spatial experts and learn about Spatial Biology and how the application of Spatial Multi-omics and single-cell imaging can be used to answer important research and clinical questions?
You won’t want to miss this webinar, Sarah Best, PhD and Saskia Freytag, PhD are co-laboratory heads of the brain cancer centre in the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research. They will be sharing their research on studying heterogeneity variance in high-grade-gliomas and their experience with both the GeoMx DSP and the CosMx SMI.
The CosMx™ SMI and decoder probes are not offered and/or delivered to the Federal Republic of Germany for use in the Federal Republic of Germany for the detection of cellular RNA, messenger RNA, microRNA, ribosomal RNA and any combinations thereof in a method used in fluorescence in situ hybridization for detecting a plurality of analytes in a sample without the consent of the President and Fellows of Harvard College (Harvard Corporation) as owner of the German part of EP 2 794 928 B1. The use for the detection of cellular RNA, messenger RNA, microRNA, ribosomal RNA and any combinations thereof is prohibited without the consent of the President and Fellows of Harvard College (Harvard Corporation).
Speakers

Sarah Best, PhD
Laboratory Head, The Brain Cancer Centre, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research
Dr. Sarah Best is a VCA Mid Career Fellow and Laboratory head in the Personalised Oncology Division at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research. Sarah co-leads the Brain Cancer Research Laboratory with Dr Saskia Freytag (bioinformatics lead) and Dr Jim Whittle (neuro-oncology lead), with a strong focus on implementing emerging spatial technologies to better understand the immense heterogeneity of adult glioma. Sarah brings her expertise from multiple solid tumour types to implement advanced metabolomics and generation of novel mouse models to tackle the challenges of brain cancer.

Saskia Freytag, PhD
Laboratory Head, The Brain Cancer Centre, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research
Saskia Freytag is a laboratory head in the Personalised Oncology Division at Walter and Eliza Hall Institute for Medical Research. Together with Dr Sarah Best and Dr Jim Whittle, Saskia co-leads the Brain Cancer Research Laboratory within the Brain Cancer Centre, where she leads the Bioinformatics arm. Her group uses cutting-edge single cell and spatial omics technologies on improving surgical methods, understanding resistance mechanisms, and identifying novel treatment strategies.
